Heating Student Food

We are unable to re-heat any students food or put boiling water in noodles. If your child requires hot food, students may bring a thermos with their food already heated or parents/caregivers can seek approval from Mrs Branford.

Supervision of Students Before and After School

There is no staff supervision for students prior to 8.35am. We require that you either stay to supervise your children or that you use our OSHC facility.  If you are unable to collect your child by 3.30pm you will need to use our OSHC facility.

Picking Up Students Before 3:15pm

Reminder to all families if you need to pick up your child/ren before 3.15pm, you need to come into the Front Office and sign them out. The Front Office staff will call the classroom and ask for your child to pack up for collection.

Car Park Safety

Please do not use the drop off/pick up zone to park your car before and after school when using OSHC. When cars park in this area outside of the designated times of 8.35am to 8.50am and 3.15pm to 3.30pm the disabled parks are compromised. Please ensure that you park your car in the designated parking bays when dropping children to OSHC in the mornings and collecting them after school.

Second Hand Uniforms

Calvary’s second hand uniform shop will be open each Wednesday from 2.30pm to 3.30pm. Please note for hygiene reasons we do not sell second hand hats, new hats are available from the Front Office. If you have any current uniform items you wish to donate or sell to the Uniform Shop please speak to the Office Staff for more information.

SA Ambulance Cover

Please note that in case of serious injury or illness, the Calvary School will take the necessary steps to gain immediate medical assistance for students by calling an ambulance, after which parents/caregivers will be notified as soon as possible.

All students enrolled at Calvary School have SA Ambulance Service cover for ACCIDENT or INJURY while in attendance for normal school activities during normal school hours, and when participating in formal school activities either at or away from the school during normal school hours eg: excursions  and inter-school sports where parents are not required to be in attendance.

Please note that ambulance attendance resulting from non-accident, non-injury, non-school related incidents are NOT covered by this policy.  This includes any ILLNESSES, and particularly applies to students who suffer from a pre-existing medical condition. (eg: diabetes, asthma, anaphylaxis, allergies, heart conditions, etc).  The cost of requiring emergency ambulance transport for children in these instances is the parent’s responsibility, and is not covered by school ambulance cover.  We would like to stress the need for families to have their own ambulance cover for children with a pre-existing condition.

Additionally, the school strongly recommends that ALL families consider obtaining their own Ambulance cover (either directly with SA Ambulance or via private health insurance extras) to safeguard themselves against unexpected and expensive emergency ambulance costs.

Working With Children Check (WWCC)

ALL people working or volunteering with children in South Australia must, by law, have a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).

If you don’t have a current child-related clearance, please contact the school office to initiate a screening application.

Please refer any school specific queries regarding the screening process to the office staff or the Business Manager, or for more general information please visit the SA Government website.
